Kataria steered Bata through a period of transformation, overseeing its response to the global pandemic and reshaping operations to align with evolving retail demands, the business announced in a press release. During his tenure, the company accelerated its digital presence, expanded into new markets, and modernised key areas of its business.

Mytaros joins Bata following a long-standing career in the footwear and leather industry, most recently serving as chief executive officer at Ecco between 2021 and 2024. With over three decades of global leadership experience, the executive is expected to drive Bata’s next phase of growth.

“Panos is a proven leader with deep industry knowledge and a passion for footwear craftsmanship,” said Graham Allan, chairman of the Bata Group, in a press release. “His track record in brand building and developing compelling footwear collections, as well as in leading complex international organisations, made him the ideal candidate.”

Bata Group thanked Kataria for his contributions and welcomed Mytaros to the role. Founded over 130 years ago, Bata operates in more than 70 countries and serves millions of customers annually through its portfolio of brands, including Bata, Bata Industrials and AW Lab.
