Footwear brand Birdhouse has expanded its responsible footwear offering by launching new line ‘Traces of Time.’ Inspired by ancient Harappan artistry, the collection reinterprets motifs from one of the world’s earliest urban civilisations into minimalist silhouettes designed for contemporary wear.

“When we began working on Traces of Time, the question that guided us was simple, ‘do you want to wear logos or a story?’ We wanted to create something that felt meaningful, that carried echoes of where we come from, and yet belonged effortlessly in today’s world,” said Birdhouse’s founder Malika Garg in a press release.
Design elements such as celestial buckles reflect the Harappan civilisation’s reverence for cosmic order, while trims echo unicorn seals and ancient scripts. These details are integrated into modern silhouettes to appeal to today’s shoppers.
Functionality remains central to the collection, according to the brand. Each pair features cushioned soles and built-in arch support aimed at optimising wearability. Birdhouse, which integrates sustainable materials and processes into all stages of design, also continues its upcycled packaging initiative, offering shoeboxes that double as birdhouses, in line with the brand’s broader environmental vision.
