Epic Group and Creative Group have formalised a joint venture named Spectra, aimed at strengthening India’s apparel manufacturing ecosystem. Initiated under the leadership of Epic Group chairman Ranjan Mahtani and Creative Group chairman Vijay Agarwal, the collaboration began with a non-binding memorandum of understanding and has now progressed to a shareholder agreement.

Backed by an initial investment of $15 million, Spectra’s first project is a dedicated denim and bottoms manufacturing facility with a monthly capacity of 700,000 units, Just Style reported. The venture targets a turnover of Rs 5 billion ($60 million) in the near term.
Spectra will focus on sustainable manufacturing, with renewable energy use and advanced apparel production techniques central to operations. The initiative will create 3,000 jobs in its first phase, with plans to grow this number to 10,000 as operations expand.
Combining Epic Group’s international production expertise with Creative Group’s five-decade legacy in textiles, the joint venture aims to support India’s positioning as a hub for responsible and innovative garment production. “We remain grateful for the opportunity to work alongside dedicated teams and partners who share our vision,” said Epic Group in a statement. “This is just the beginning.”
