Gentle Monster opens first Paris boutique in the Marais

South Korean luxury eyewear brand Gentle Monster on Friday opened its very first flagship store in continental Europe. Located in the heart of the Marais district in Paris, the new address is a sensory and artistic experience that reflects Gentle Monster’s avant-garde world.

Founded in 2011 in South Korea, Gentle Monster has established itself as an international benchmark in experimental design and visual storytelling. Known for its boldly styled eyewear and cutting-edge artistic collaborations, the brand appeals equally to fashion lovers and contemporary art enthusiasts. Present in 16 countries worldwide, it continues to expand with the opening of this Paris boutique, a symbol of its growing influence on the global stage.

Located at 132 Rue Vieille-du-Temple, in the 3rd arrondissement, the new flagship embodies Gentle Monster’s unique philosophy: fusing avant-garde design with the exploration of human emotions. The space notably features a spectacular installation, the “Giant Head Kinetic Object”, created by the Gentle Monster Robotics Lab. This mechanical piece comprises three moving faces, evoking contemplation, the complexity of cognition, and the invisible bonds between beings.

On the first floor, another piece of kinetic art, “Star”, plays with natural light to cast a gentle glow reminiscent of the morning sun. These immersive creations reflect the brand’s desire to invite visitors to engage in genuine poetic introspection.

Open daily from 10:30am to 7:30pm, the Marais boutique offers an experience at the crossroads of fashion, art and technology, true to the visionary spirit of Gentle Monster, which continues to redefine the boundaries of experiential retail.
