Centred around the theme ‘Stitchverse: The Future of DIY Fashion & Craft,’ the boutique-format festival will feature workshops, discussions, and creative engagement designed to spotlight the modern maker movement, the event organisers announced in a press release. Workshop highlights will include ‘Stick & Stitch’ with Akshata Jain of Knot Your Type, exploring upcycled embroidery through DIY kits; ‘Scrap to Swag’ with The hab’s experience lead Renu Sisodiya, focusing on patch-making from textile remnants; and ‘Totes & Trims’ with Rabab Kanchwala of G&R, where participants will craft reversible gingham totes.

Panel sessions will examine themes of creativity and conscious fashion. ‘Roots & Revolutions’ will bring together Mayank Bhutra of Erode Clothing and Mousmi Sejpal from Hemp Fabric Lab to discuss heritage and sustainable materials. ‘Thread Therapy’ will focus on sewing as a creative outlet beyond the 9-to-5, while ‘From Hobby to Hustle’ will offer brand-building insights from Amaara Sangam, head of The Hab by Usha.

“Sewing Festival India is grounded in heritage but boldly future-facing,” said Sangam in a press release. “Stitchverse is where future-forward making meets community.”
